In October 2025, I had the incredible honor of representing the USA and Jamaica as a semi-finalist at the Margot Fonteyn International Ballet Competition in São Paulo, Brazil. I performed Odalisque Variation II from Le Corsaire and debuted original choreography inspired by Hunhu, an African philosophy meaning “I am because we are.”
This experience was transformative, it allowed me to learn from world-renowned teachers, dancers, and choreographers while connecting with peers from across the globe. Competing at this level taught me that true growth happens when you step outside your comfort zone and embrace new cultures, friendships, and challenges. Ballet has shaped my resilience, artistry, and appreciation for community, and this milestone was truly a dream realized.
