Girl Scout Gold Award Project | 2022–2025
Let’s Get Physical! grew out of my interest in how movement can help us feel better, think clearer, and do better in school. I wanted to explore the connection between physical activity, emotional health, and learning, so I interviewed teachers, administrators, and parents, then turned what I learned into five short stories for younger kids.
Let’s Get Physical! grew out of my interest in how movement can help us feel better, think clearer, and do better in school. I wanted to explore the connection between physical activity, emotional health, and learning, so I interviewed teachers, administrators, and parents, then turned what I learned into five short stories for younger kids.
Over two years, I shared this project at schools across Jamaica, including Pedro Plains and Sandy Bank Primary, where my great-grandparents once went to school. I also led wellness workshops for Girl Scouts and was honored to earn the Girl Scout Gold Award in May 2025, the highest award in Girl Scouting.
Along the way, I was recognized by the City of Weston, featured in Our City Weston Magazine, and awarded the ECHO Scholarship. But more than anything, this project showed me how powerful creative advocacy can be, and how movement isn’t just about fitness, but about connection, confidence, and care.
