World Children’s Day Tanzania Expedition

As part of the World Children’s Day Expedition in Arusha, Tanzania, I joined student leaders from around the world to work with Seeway International on local service projects. One meaningful project involved building goat sheds for families, helping fight food insecurity by providing a steady source of milk and income. We also built desks for overcrowded schools to create better learning environments and constructed smokeless ovens to promote healthier cooking and reduce smoke-related health risks in the community.

At Usa River Primary School, we planted avocado trees, remodeled classrooms, and helped create a better learning environment for the students. Planting trees wasn’t just about the environment, it was about providing future nutrition for their community.

One of the best parts was the Inclusive Dialogue workshop with The Foundation of Tomorrow, where I had meaningful conversations with students from Tanzania and Nord Anglia peers from around the world using Generation Global’s tools to discuss the SDGs and children’s rights. This dialogue opened my eyes, taught me the power of listening, and reminded me that young people everywhere play a key role in driving change.
